After four years of remission, her mom's cancer was the last thing on Daniela's mind. Almost immediately into their bucket list luxury mother-daughter vacation, she learned that cancer was still top of mind for Mom, especially since dad's cancer is serious. Daniela credits her grandmother for the Neighbourhood Homestead brand. They had a city lot in Toronto, and she grew almost all their produce. The majority of the meat they ate was hunted by her grandfather or traded from other hunters and hobby homesteaders they knew. Italian immigrants were total urban homesteaders and didn’t even know it. Daniela wants to bring that old wisdom back in style.
When her grandmother died they found a treasure trove of her favourite recipes of Northern Italian second world war era cuisine. Daniela is collaborating with her mother and they can't wait to bring them to you!
Daniela loves to cook in cast iron. There is nothing cozier. Its easy to maintain and flavour can't be beat. From appetizers to breads, main dishes & dessert, she'll show you how! Coming Soon!
